IN THE PINK at POTS & PANS

In 1987, some mindless vandals decided to paint the Pots & Pans stones on top of Alderman’s Hill with graffiti. Fortunately, they left the obelisk war memorial alone. Presumably, their warped minds must have had some sort of moral conscience. Peak National Park rangers cleaned off the pink paint by using sandblasting equipment. The equipment ferried to the site by a tractor with the kind assistance of Mr Crowther of Upperwood House.  We cleaned off just enough paint to prevent permanent marking of the rock.
